Dede Monette
Dede is a passionate and inspired E-RYT, RCYT and the Director of the Tofino Yoga School; a Yoga Alliance Registered faculty. She has been practicing, teaching and sharing various styles of yoga since 1996.
Brought to yoga by the Sivananda Yoga tradition, Dede completed her first 250 hrs Hatha and Vinyasa YTT in 2008 from Moksana Yoga in Victoria, BC.
Dede has studied yoga in India and travelled to Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Canada. She has studied under the watchful eye of many talented yoga to study under various international teachers. Most recently Dede trained under the dedicated instruction of Gopalakrishnan Poonoor, from Kerala India, Kerry Lawson of Tusket Nova-Scotia and Natalie Rousseau from Pemberton, BC.
Her main focus is to connect and inspire people to live a life of purpose.
Her current teaching modalities are rooted in traditional hatha yoga with a love of yin yoga & restorative yoga. When offering Beach Yoga & SUP yoga, Dede loves to weave in vinyasa yoga to the natural ebb and flow of the ocean.
Dede has the blessing to work very closely with many First Nations communities as a Regional Wellness Provider, facilitating specialized yoga workshops ranging from Prenatal Yoga, Baby and Me Yoga, Kids yoga, Elders Chair yoga and Beginners yoga.
Tofino Yoga has worked closely with Wanderlust Festival for over 6 years, which was really helpful in curating memorable yoga experiences.
Dede is the grateful Mama of two beautiful children and the wife of a wonderful nature loving man.
